Otto Murray Dixon 1885-1917
English artist born Loughborough, died in the First World War in France on Vimy Ridge. He was a keen naturalist and great admirer of Archibald Thornburn, modelling his work closely on that of the older man both in style and even down to the curved signature. However, his colours were richer than those chosen by Thornburn. He was one of four artists who contributed plates to JG Millais's British Diving Ducks 1913 with 74 plates.
